Faith Conquers Fear

By Pastor Mike Sanders

It’s an old story, but its truth transcends time. A little four-year-old girl became frightened late one night during a thunderstorm. After one particularly loud clap of thunder, she jumped up from her bed, ran down the hall, and burst into her parent’s room. Jumping right in the middle of the bed, she sought out her parent’s arms for comfort and reassurance. “Don’t worry, honey,” her father said, trying to calm her fears. “The Lord will protect you.”

The little girl snuggled closer to her father and said, “I know that Daddy, but right now, I need someone with skin on!”[1] Fear can be a hindrance to a proper perspective.

God wants you to have peace every day. God doesn’t want you to live a life of worry and fear and always fretting and falling apart emotionally. Jesus Christ, he will pull you out of the miry clay, and he will set your feet on the solid rock, and he will bring stability into your life.

When the storms beat down on your life, Jesus Christ will move in your life, and therefore you will find we do not have to live in fear in Him. Why because the Bible says, “You are complete in Him…” (Col 2:10 NKJV) If you have Jesus, there is nothing else that you need. Christ satisfies all. You must have confidence and faith and find that your life is significant.

Therefore, I don’t have to be afraid. Yes, we live in a world that would like to cause us to be fearful. Yes, there is a demonic spiritual force that would like to oppress us and bring fear into our lives, but in Christ, who is the head of all principalities and all powers and authorities of this world, you are complete in him you are fulfilled in him.

God is working sovereignly in your life. Don’t be fearful. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind” (2Ti 1:7 NKJV). Let’s live our lives, boldly and courageously. A fearless life that is not afraid to share the truth of God
